Abstract of Special Session
This special issue focuses on advanced control of wind turbines and stability technologies for power systems with high wind power penetration. As wind turbines continue to grow in size, suppressing operational fatigue loads under persistent wind speed fluctuations has become a key issue of common concern to academia, manufacturers, and owners. Meanwhile, as the penetration of wind power in power systems continues to rise, there is an urgent need for wind power to play a more important role in power system frequency/voltage stability. This special issue invites original research and practical application contributions on advanced wind turbine control algorithms, source-grid coordination mechanisms and methods, and multi-energy coordinated stability control, aiming to enhance the grid-connection benefits of wind power and other renewable energy sources and to promote the harmonious and healthy development of renewable energy and power grids.
